National Center for the Environment (CENMA) a brief historyThe National Center for the Environment (CENMA) was created in 1995, within the framework of a technical cooperation Project between the governments of Chile and Japan. Complying with its founding mandate, and administrated by the Universidad de Chile, CENMA has focused in providing scientific and technical support to the State of Chile and its national system of environmental management, and in becoming a reference organization in environmental matters for the country. ![]() CENMA has advised and supported the design, implementation and revision of environmental policies, regulations and projects at local, regional, and national levels. CENMA also has done research in many areas of the environment and natural resources, has generated and analyzed a vast spectrum of environmental information and has trained professionals, technicians and personnel from the public and the private sectors of Chile and Latin America. |
